Ghana- The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has advised Ghanaian students living in Wuhan, China to stay in the epicenter of the coronavirus, saying that after careful consideration, their evacuation is not an option at this time.

GHS explained that current conditions in the city do not warrant an evacuation. The minority parliamentary group also gave the government three days on Tuesday to evacuate students or deal with the anger of its members.
The spokesman for the parliamentary group for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in a press statement, accused the government of being insensitive to the plight of the students, while their counterparts were evacuated by their respective countries.
The students, through the Chinese section of the National Students Union of Ghana, also called on the government to consider evacuating them as the disease continues to spread.

However, during a media engagement in Accra, the director of public health of the service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie, and the Acting Director General of the Ghana health service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye, said that it would be in the students' best interest to stay in China.
As it stands, APA has learned that the country has not made adequate preparations in terms of resources to bring students home, a situation that could endanger the whole country.
